It seems everyone is searching for success. I recently read writing where someone gave a formula for success. As I read the article I became more and more confused because there was not a definition of what success is. I looked the word up in the dictionary and get this definition of succ…

I recently got to spend a lot more time with my son. Sometimes, the life of a musician forces you to make choices and I haven’t had a lot of time to spend with my son. I was amazed how much he’s grown and I felt bad that my life on the road kept me away from him for so long. I walked into my guest room where he was sleeping and as I watched him sleep, I remembered the first time I saw him. I was in the operating room, when he was born, all seven pounds and seven pounds and nine ounces. He was a…

I found an interesting test online ( www.queendom.com) recently. It’s a test to determine if you or someone you know is a Drama Queen. I am pretty sure there is no explanation necessary as to what a drama queen is. But let me give you my definition and see if it coincides with yours. We all know a woman (or man) who basically takes trivial confrontations and explodes with anxiety and over exaggerated emotional responses.
When faced with anything where they have lost control they demonstrate the…

I always seem to find humor in the most bizarre things. I think that ability allows me to keep my sanity and not take myself too seriously. When life or people start try to bring you down, the ability to just laugh at it all cleanses the soul and mind from negative repudiation. “A healthy laugh is good for the soul” I think Franklin Delano Roosevelt said that after a serious bout with his polio. Whatever happens to us in this world will happen no matter what we do. We cannot change what happens…

What are your deepest fears? Have you ever thought of what it is that frightens you the most? There are always the basic fears carried over from childhood. I know forty year old men still sleeping with a night light. The fears we experienced as children were not based on rational thought. Our imaginations fueled the substance of all our fears. We never thought what would happen if the boogey man caught us. We could just pull the covers over our heads and we were safe.If we can't see it , it can'…

" Let’s have one more dance. One moment where there are no yesterdays of tomorrows. A moment where all there is is that moment being held in your arms and holding you close. This will be a stoppage of time. We’ll stop the reality around us and get off the merry go round of this crazy world. This moment will last us for the rest of our lives. This moment is only a beginning but never an ending. Dance with me my love, let’s float away on the wings of butterflies and soar into the starry n…

I always thought that the older I got the wiser I would become. When I was younger I envisioned that each passing year I would amass more and more knowledge until one day I would become this wise old men. As a musician, I would practice and practice religiously and after over forty years of playing I would have mastered my craft. However, it seems the more I learn, the less I know. Once I learn a new skill, it opens a myriad of other skills that force me to practice harder. Will I ever get to th…
